Meet Ms. Mackey
Hello!
My name is Sarah Mackey. I was born and raised in Jacksonville Beach. I remember as a child I got spend time outside everyday. I got to explore and imagine the different possibilities of the world around me. Growing up I had amazing teachers that instilled the love of learning into me at a young age. Because of this I grew up loving school, and have always wanted to be a teacher. I hope that I can teach my students to love learning as much as I do.
I graduated from University of North Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I also have my ESOL endorsement, and I am currently taking classes to receive my Reading endorsement. I have been teaching for three years now in Duval County Public Schools. I am so excited to be teaching at Seaside this year! I truly believe that the Waldorf philosophy of educating the head, the heart, and the hands is beneficial to all children.
In my free time I love spending time with my family and friends. One of my favorite things to do is to travel. This summer I was lucky enough to travel to New York City and Charleston, South Carolina with my cousins. I also love spending time at the beach with my friends. Recently I have had lots of fun painting with friends and teaching my Godson how to watercolor. I can't wait to meet my new first graders and start the school year!
